Honestly I giggled when I saw the pic on Yahoo of the '-20% for being a loser'. I don't think it was acceptable though.

Not that I think about it more, if that's how he "related" to the students, I wouldn't put it past him. It's like he's trying to be on their level and identify with the typical popular/in control mean kid. If he hadn't already crossed some other line I think it would have happened in the future.

Eh, I don't think so. I just think of parents trying to relate to their kids and use slang. It's funny. I doubt it would have bothered me if a teacher wrote loser on my paper as a joke. It's still not appropriate though. 

I think it's stupid. If it were your kid I bet it would have made you mad just a little bit. Like the parent said the teachers are supposed to be there to inspire. Not to degrade the student or to have sex with them. 

For 6th grade, it would bother me if it happened to me. HS, no. 6th grade they are more sensitive. Plus, self esteem is a higher issue nowadays then before. If someone wrote "loser" on my kids photo, they best sleep with 1 eye open! hehe

I think it's stupid. If it were your kid I bet it would have made you mad just a little bit. Like the parent said the teachers are supposed to be there to inspire. I never said it was okay for him to do. I had a teacher in HS who wasn't much older than us. He used to goof around with the kids all the time. If he'd written loser on my paper, it wouldn't have bugged me. That teacher popped into my head when I read the article. 

I had a goof teacher, but he'd NEVER write loser. I think no teacher should ever write loser on a paper. Way to be a d!ck teacher. 

Yeah but that is HS. You handle things better there. This girl is only in 6th grade. I am sure it hurt her feelings. 

I think no teacher should ever write loser on a paper. I agree with that, it was definitely not okay for him to do. I think HS is way harder, emotionally, than 6th grade. I didn't have a problem, but I've met people who had a horrible time in HS. 

We had a crazy teacher. He smelled really bad and the kids would pick on him about it. I had him for English in 11th Grade and was supposed to have him again my senior year. It didn't happen though b/c I guess he snapped on one of the students and told them all that they were going to burn in the pits of hell and started throwing stuff everywhere. I wasn't there but I heard that he was told to leave but he wouldn't get out of his chair so the cops pushed him down the hall way in his desk chair and then took him to jail lol. 

And it doesn't matter if it bugs you or not. Obviously the mom was pissed. I'd be super beyond pissed if a teacher wrote loser on K's paper. 

I think HS is way harder, emotionally, than 6th grade. I didn't have a problem, but I've met people who had a horrible time in HS. Yeah, but in HS we understand goofing around and saying loser more. To 6th graders, loser means more to then. At least that's my opinion.

My friends son went to school and got choked by another student. To me that is crazy. In 6th grade I had nice teachers and didn't have to worry about looking over my back when I went to school. 

I had a health teacher in 7th grade who was a creep. He'd look down all the girls' shirts and talk about sex too much. He was definitely a pedophile. He was fired for having so many complaints. Ew and one day a year he'd wear a spandex body suit.
