This might be kind of a silly question.. but figured i'd give it a shot.. my husband just transferred to a new unit. they are scheduled for the field.. if he's married/has a baby.. and lives in jacksonville can he come home after the field during the day? or does he have to stay out there and sleep as well? Thanks in advance :)

~Monkey Manners~ --- 185 days ago -

LOL, umm he stays. Sorry

^DeviousAmaris^ --- 185 days ago -

He stays for the entire time.

♠ Satan's Mistress --- 185 days ago -

I'm fairly certain going to the field = going to the field for a few days.

~Monkey Manners~ --- 185 days ago -

I'm fairly certain going to the field = going to the field for a few ds.ay well if he were a soldier it may not :P

*Smacks self in forehead* I'll give you the benefit of the doubt because you seem to be really young and a new wife- no. He doesn't get to come home if he's in the field.

♠ Satan's Mistress --- 185 days ago -

MM damn it! I fixed my typo! You couldn't wait two seconds!!! The screen is doubled right now! lol

Skoochers --- 185 days ago -

Sorry, he stays gone. Think of it as practice for both of you before a deployment.

meggles --- 185 days ago -

They aren't deploying.. It's a non-deployable unit. He hasn't even back from Iraq for 4 months yet. I guess he's going in the field.. coming home for the weekend for a 96.. then back in the field for another week!? Someone mentioned that if you were married and lived so far in radius of the field they could come home as long as they lived within that radius from the field.. I didn't know I wanted to ask! Thanks though! :)

E's Wife --- 185 days ago -

They stay out there the entire time they are gone. Although my husband has been told a couple of times he "might" get to come home each night I have yet to see that happen. Think of it as practice for both of you before a deployment I agree.

They aren't deploying.. It's a non-deployable unit I didn't know Lejeune HAD any non deployable units....aside from the wounder warriors

Even if it IS a non deploying unit- he won't be there forever.

E's Wife --- 185 days ago -

Someone mentioned that if you were married and lived so far in radius of the field they could come home as long as they lived within that radius from the field It's a possibility, but it would be at the unit's discretion. When my husband went to stonebay for a week, he was able to come home each night for a few hours and then had to be back at a certain time.

But isn't Stone bay a range? My husband always came home during the range.

E's Wife --- 185 days ago -

But isn't Stone bay a range? My husband always came home during the range Yeah it is. Different units do different things, so I was just trying to point out that fact. I think I failed though.

Jules --- 185 days ago -

I thought the range was for gun quals and not the same as being in the field. My husband is airwing and doesn't do all that mess (except the range but he always comes home.) I'd be at a loss if he were a grunt. I like him having a cushy, easy to understand job!

Stephie0407 --- 185 days ago -

It's a possibility, but it would be at the unit's discretion. This is possible. My husband has come home at night while in the field. I personally found the whole thing stupid though since he got home at like 9pm and left by 4am to get back there..... That only happened once in the last 4 years though..... And really if he is coming home for the 96, your lucky, my husband stays in the field during the 96 if they are out there....

~Monkey Manners~ --- 185 days ago -

It's a non-deployable unit. lol Although my husband has been told a couple of times he "might" get to come home each night I have yet to see that happen. in 13 yrs I experienced that 1 time, he was with 272 and they were doing field ops in Bogue & since we lived so close he did come home at night when the others that lived closer to New River had to stay. IDK, I don't think they were out there but a couple of days anyways.

Susie Homemaker☆ --- 185 days ago -

Someone mentioned that if you were married and lived so far in radius of the field they could come home as long as they lived within that radius from the field.. I've never heard that before. They usually stay in the field the entire time.

meggles --- 185 days ago -

Ugh :( I'm going to go insane from being so bored ha! Thanks everyone though.. I was hoping he would be able to come home at night! Dang field operations! :(

Cinde-freakin-rella --- 185 days ago -

And really if he is coming home for the 96, your lucky, my husband stays in the field during the 96 if they are out there....  yeah, this... I about choked on my soda from the op's question..

Someone mentioned that if you were married and lived so far in radius of the field they could come home as long as they lived within that radius from the field.. I Usually in my experience, if they go to the field, they go and stay even during 96's. I think someone is pulling your leg about being able to come home if you have baby and are married BUT depending on the actual field op or rank (meaning the higher the rank, that may be possible), that could be true.

meggles --- 185 days ago -

Well I know for sure he does get to come home for the 96.. I just didn't know about the rest of the nights when he had to stay in the field.

~Monkey Manners~ --- 185 days ago -

Ugh :( I'm going to go insane from being so bored ha! you need friends

Cinde-freakin-rella --- 185 days ago -

you need friends  or a hobby

Dang field operations! :( My husband is gone for the month at Bragg.... I have 2 children, and it gets old, however I try to find what I enjoy about it. You will learn to do the same.....

dmc... --- 185 days ago -

what 96? A holiday? Or are they giving them a 96 in the middle of a field op? He's been in 6 years, right? Things don't change *that* much just because they go to a new unit, do they? How did it work at his old unit?

♥LifeIsLove♥ --- 185 days ago -

I feel horrible for LMAO in this thread.

*lovinMyfamily* --- 185 days ago -

Meggers, I see that you're new to the area, and therefore may not know anyone or what to do around here. I suggest you use the time he's out in the field to explore your surrounds. Also start going to some play groups so you can meet other women/mommies you can relate to. So when he is in the field or at work you have a friend to hang out with.
