The popular TV reality series "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" is looking for a North Carolina family to feature on an episode. The News & Record of Greensboro reported that nominations can be made either by family members themselves or by someone in their community. Candidates must own the property they live in and demonstrate why they are "deserving, heroic and/or a great role model for their community." The series follows teams of designers, contractors and volunteers as they raise a home in under a week. The family gets a weeklong vacation during that time. The deadline for nominations is Aug. 7. The show featured two North Carolina families last season. Those interested in nominating someone can e-mail castingnorthcarolina@gmail.com or print out an application at http://abc.go.com/primetime/xtremehome/index?pn (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press. Am I a bad person to be tired of that show already? It's usually the same story.

Am I a bad person to be tired of that show already? It's usually the same story. LMAO!!! i was thinking the same thing :) Plus I got turned off of the show when I heard about that one family that was losing their home(re-done home) even after the show paid off their mortgage and gave them a fund to live off of for their circumstances... apparently they squandered the money, and didnt pay their bills(taxes) I was so mad...all that work to rebuild that families life, and they didnt change...that pisses me off!

Plus I got turned off of the show when I heard about that one family that was losing their home there's actually been quite a few who just couldn't afford to pay for the increased taxes and such and lost the homes. You should read some of the stories, that's why I refuse to watch it. There was an episode where a family took in like 3 or 4 kids who had lost their parents. As soon as the cameras stopped rolling, basically, the family pretty much kicked out the kids. There was a big lawsuit filed, it was pretty ugly. Yeah, not a fan at all.

The newly built houses are red herrings for the neighborhood; everyone else's taxes goes up. I can't stand the show, either.

Rain on my thread guys, gee thanks. I don't mind the show, it makes me cry. And I like to see the stories. I used to think it was for a good cause, but you all ruined it.

very sorry, Doop! You should check out Vern Yip (sp)'s show on HGTV, Deserving Design or something like that.

I'm sorry, Doop; I didn't mean to ruin it for you. :( It wouldn't be as bad if the rebuilt houses are roughly similar to the rest of the neighborhood.
