I became a fan :) shes pretty too

MacSays_ShutUrCockGarage --- 178 days ago -

Can't say I'm shocked. The south isn't notoriously tolerant of those who don't conform to the "norms" of society. That being said, if people were uncomfortable with their presence, ignore them. If they're uncomfortable, that's their own problem. People should be allowed to attend events with whomever they want as long as it's done in a manner that doesn't "break any rules". I doubt choosing to have a girlfriend when you're a girl breaks the school rules.

**Krystal in SC** --- 178 days ago -

I don't see why they say it makes them uncomfortable though. It's not like those girls were going after them or anything. I guess I am sort of a flip flopper on the subject. I can see where the school has it's rules but then I can see where she is coming from too.

MacSays_ShutUrCockGarage --- 178 days ago -

Oh and FTR, I don't htink it would have mattered if she wore a dress. They would have made a stink about it anyways. Nor should she be made to wear one. Some women just aren't comfortable in dresses.

MacSays_ShutUrCockGarage --- 178 days ago -

Well behaved women rarely make history. Indeed.

Amel!A --- 178 days ago -

I became a fan :) shes pretty too I became a fan simply because she IS pretty! I have no patience for ugly lesbians.

**Krystal in SC** --- 178 days ago -

I was just thinking, if the military does away with don't ask; don't tell and allows homosexuals to serve openly, we may see some interesting couples at military balls too.

billie-jean Doop --- 178 days ago -

MN, it's in Romans as well. Romans 1:26-27... For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. There's my contribution.

Wilde --- 178 days ago -

Romans 1:26-27... For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: It is wrong to go against one's nature. They are finding out now that ppl can be born gay and to be forced against one's nature is wrong.

Nevermind...no debates today. ^^^^^ I'm not even gonna read this thread I'm not sure what MN posted because I haven't seen it, but Doop we are reading in Leviticus, Matthew and Proverbs right now I am pretty sure we just came across something in Leviticus along the same lines of the one you posted from Romans. Let me find it...... Leviticus 18: 22 22 Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.

She seems like a sweet girl. It's not her fault the prom was canceled, the school decided that on their own.

Erin Marie --- 178 days ago -

Poor girl. She just wants to bring her girlfriend.

What the Bible says about homosexuality would only be relevant if 1) the entire world believed the Bible has any merit and 2) the US Constitution allowed for the joining of church and state. Neither of those conditions are met, so it doesn't really matter what the Bible or any other religious text has to say about the subject.

Neither of those conditions are met, so it doesn't really matter what the Bible or any other religious text has to say about the subject. I gotta agree. Not everyone follows the Bible word for word, like lots of people think they should. I personally don't believe that just because I support gay couples being able ot live like non gay couples means I'm going to hell. Just like I don't think God gives a sh*t if I cuss. It's not about that stuff, IMO. It's about what's inside people. And gays are just like us.....there are good seeds and bad seeds, but they all shouldn't suffer because a percentage of people believe what the Bible says word for word.

littleduck90 --- 178 days ago -

Again, I don't think the South or the Bible belt has anything to do with it. There are places in the South that are extraordinarily liberal. There are places in the North that are conservative. I think the bible belt comment by her is a ploy for attention. What the Bible says about homosexuality would only be relevant Did anyone say that's the way it should be because the Bible says so? If so I missed it. The passages are relevant to those who believe it. Your opinion is relevant because it is what you believe. If the bible passages are irrelevant, then so is everyone's opinion. I think the whole thing is stupid. They shouldn't have cancelled the prom. I know that a lot of schools do have teachers/chaperones stationed at the door to check tickets/dress codes. She probably couldn't have gotten away with not asking. And gays are just like us.....there are good seeds and bad seeds, but they all shouldn't suffer because a percentage of people believe what the Bible says word for word. While I would agree that a lot of people against homosexuals have a religious basis, not all do. It is a stretch to say that they suffer because of the Bible.

Just an FYI, the bible verses weren't posted due to debate- they were posted because they were ASKED to be posted.

Muse Heather --- 178 days ago -

If the bible passages are irrelevant, then so is everyone's opinion. That's exactly my point. No one's 'opinion' is relevant when someone's civil rights are being violated. That's why we have laws. And like I said earlier, the only reason besides religion beliefs for treating one teenager differently than another is plain ole bigotry, and neither reason has any place in a public school. MN, I thought when "nevermind, no debate today" was posted that the intention had originally been to do just that.

billie-jean Doop --- 177 days ago -

Just an FYI, the bible verses weren't posted due to debate- they were posted because they were ASKED to be posted. Exactly. I didn't see where anyone refrenced Romans, when asked to quote the Bible. And the "no debates today" comment was posted because I know when to stop. :)

:) :) Looks like someone stepped up to help: New Orleans hotel owner Sean Cummings told The Clarion-Ledger of Jackson he was so disappointed with the school board's decision he offered to transport the students in buses to the city and host a free prom at one of his properties. "New Orleans, we're a joyful culture and a creative culture here and, if the school doesn't change its mind, we'd be delighted to offer them a prom in New Orleans," he told the newspaper. "Concluding your high school experience should be a joyful one. One shouldn't conclude that experience with all their friends on a negative note."
